Membership terms
Last updated 26/09/2026
These terms cover The Nutmeg Group membership — the free scheme that gives members a welcome voucher for 15% off food at any of our five Bristol restaurants. By starting a membership you accept them.
1. Who we are
The Nutmeg Group is five restaurants in Bristol, each run by its own company, and the membership is run jointly by all five:
- NUTMEG (CLIFTON) LTD, which runs Nutmeg — registered in England and Wales, company number 10323759, registered office 10 The Mall, Bristol, BS8 4DR
- KATTUMARAM LTD, which runs Nadu — registered in England and Wales, company number 12482169, registered office 77–79 Stokes Croft, Bristol, BS1 3RD
- KAL DOSA (PVT) LTD, which runs Kal Dosa — registered in England and Wales, company number 14534564, registered office 77–79 Stokes Croft, St Pauls, Bristol, BS1 3RD
- NSK (PVT) LTD, which runs Nutmeg Street Kitchen — registered in England and Wales, company number 15966599, registered office 25 St Augustine's Parade, Bristol, BS1 4UL
- BOMBIL (PVT) LTD, which runs Bombil — registered in England and Wales, company number 15969243, registered office 31 East Street, Bedminster, Bristol, BS3 4HH
In these terms, "we" means those five companies together. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. Joining
Membership is free. You join in the members' app with your email address and your first name; a phone number and a preferred restaurant are optional. There is no card to carry, no points to collect and no tiers to climb.
When you join we give you a welcome voucher straight away. It appears in the app, and it is yours to use whenever you choose within the period set out below.
A membership belongs to one person. It is not transferable and cannot be shared.
3. Your welcome voucher
The welcome voucher is 15% off food. Every member gets one, whether or not you choose to hear from us by email.
You can use it once. Once it has been used it is spent, and your membership stays open either way.
It lasts 90 days from the day you join. After that it expires and cannot be used or reissued.
You choose where to use it. It works at any one of the five restaurants — whichever you decide on when you come to use it.
It applies to food only. Drinks, service charge and anything else on the bill that is not food are not discounted.
It applies when dining in. Takeaway and delivery are not included at the moment.
It applies alongside anything else the restaurant is running — set menus, lunch deals and promotions all still take the voucher off their food.
It does not apply to private dining, catering and events, or to large group bookings arranged in advance. Those are quoted separately and we will tell you when you book.
One voucher per bill. There is no limit on the size of the table and a table booked in the ordinary way is welcome to use a voucher, but only one voucher comes off any one bill, however many members are sitting at it. Vouchers cannot be combined or used one after another against the same bill.
4. Using a voucher
Open the members' app at the restaurant, choose the voucher and choose which of the five you are eating at. You will be asked to confirm, and a code appears. Show the code to a member of staff, who takes the discount off your bill.
Confirming uses the voucher. That is the moment it is spent, so confirm when you are at the table and ready — not before you set out and not while you are deciding where to eat. We cannot return a voucher that has been used.
A code stays valid for two hours, and you can bring it back up in the app during that time if your phone locks. The code has to be shown before the bill is settled. We cannot apply a discount to a bill that has already been paid.
You can only have one voucher in use at a time.
4a. Other vouchers
From time to time we send members further vouchers — for an anniversary, a seasonal menu or something we only do once. These go to members who have chosen to hear from us by email, because that is how we send them. You can turn that on or off at any time in the app.
Each of these vouchers carries its own terms, shown on the voucher itself in the app: how much it takes off, the dates it can be used between, and whether it is for one particular restaurant or for all five. Sections 3 and 4 above otherwise apply to them in the same way, including one voucher per bill.
If you turn emails off you will stop receiving new vouchers, but any voucher already in your app stays yours to use.
We may withdraw a voucher that has not yet been used — for example where a promotion was sent in error. A voucher you have already used is never affected.
5. Fair use
Vouchers are for your own dining, and a membership belongs to one person. We may withdraw a membership that is being misused — for example if codes are being shared, or if vouchers are being activated without a visit.
There is no cash alternative and a voucher cannot be exchanged for anything else.
6. Changes to the scheme
We may change what the welcome voucher is worth or how long it lasts, add or withdraw other member benefits, or change or end the scheme, at any time. A voucher already in your app keeps the terms it was issued with — a later change is never applied backwards to something you are already holding.
If we change these terms, the updated version appears on this page with a new date at the top.
7. Closing your membership
You can close your membership whenever you like by emailing [email protected]. Any unused vouchers go with it. We may close a membership where these terms have been broken.
8. Your information
What we hold, why we hold it and how to have it deleted are set out in our privacy notice.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
